Grading Policies and Procedures: Quarter Grades: will be based upon the following items. 1. Chapter Exams- each exam is worth 100 points 2. Projects, essays, presentations, and group work: major projects are worth 100 points; smaller presentations and short essay assignments will be worth less. 3. Quizzes- will total between 60 and 110 points each quarter (see Classroom Policies for more information) 4. Homework- the points on homework assignments will vary. Worksheets and section review questions are worth usually 10 points, whereas map work and short answer question may be worth more points.
Each type of assessment given will have a set amount of points possible. In order to calculate quarter average, students should divide the total amount of points they earned for the quarter by the total amount of points possible. Given the exams, projects, quizzes, and homework that will be assigned each marking period, students should expect approximately 750 possible points each marking period. (The point values may vary with the different course sections and with each marking period).
